2020 South Carolina legislative session starts today

2020 Legislative Tracker

The 2020 South Carolina legislative session starts today and SC Equality is committed to advocating for bills that will bring us closer to fully protecting LGBTQ South Carolinians. We are also prepared to fight against any anti-LGBTQ bill that moves this session. Our team is at the Statehouse today and will be there for the remainder of the session fighting each and every day for LGBTQ+ equality in our state.

We’re setting our sights on winning LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections in 2020, to ensure that LGBTQ South Carolinians can live their lives free from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

South Carolina is one of 5 states without a hate crime law.  That has to change in 2020.  We are working hard to pass a hate crime bill that includes sexual orientation and gender identity this year. While others attempt to single out and target members of our community for unfair and unequal treatment.

In order for you to remain informed, SC Equality tracks each bill we are supporting and opposing in our 2020 Legislative Tracker.
